Matt Jones

Matt is the branding brains behind Four Pillars – he has a passion for great and beautiful things, and that shows in all that Four Pillars does.

Matt Jones is the smart and sophisticated guy of the trio. He is Welsh by birth but made the sensible decision to make his life in Sydney, via New York.

Matt describes himself as a creative strategist, an accidental entrepreneur and a serial failure. He has an eclectic background, combining economics, politics, brand experience and (since 2013) gin.

After a stint in politics, working as Chief Political Adviser to the UK Conservative Party, he moved into brand experience, working as Jack Morton Worldwide’s first chief creative and strategy officer. Between 2006 and 2012, Matt became one of the world’s most influential thinkers in the emerging world of brand experience, helping brands like IBM, Microsoft, Qantas, Sony, Samsung and Volkswagen navigate their way in a new era of socially-connected consumers and experience-led brand building.

Eventually Matt would go on to form his own creative agency, focusing on applying creative strategy, storytelling and experience design to brand and business challenges for corporate, craft, start-up and social businesses.

In 2013, Matt met Stu for lunch in Sydney's Surry Hills where the idea of creating a gin brand and business together with Cam was suggested. The rest is history!

These days Matt is very in demand on the speaking circuit to share the story of Four Pillars (so far) to businesses big and small across the country.
