This started out as a classic Negroni as created by Count Camillo Negroni, built on a base of Campari, sweet vermouth and our Spiced Negroni Gin.
But then James Irvine (our previous Creative Director of Gin Drinks) got involved and gave it the double barrel treatment, adding both our Chardonnay Barrel Gin and Sherry Cask Gin to the mix.
Of course he had to push it even further, so the addition of native wattle, white chocolate and rhubarb take what is a traditional cocktail to a very modern Australian place.
To drink this pre-batched cocktail simply pour around 100mL straight from the fridge into a rocks glass over plenty of ice with a slice of orange.
When you taste it you’ll find every ingredient has a part to play. Spiced Negroni Gin, Chardonnay Barrel and Sherry Cask Gins combined act as the perfect blend of citrus, spice and rounded sweetness.
Mixed with the contrasting brightness of rhubarb and richness of white chocolate we’ve ended up with a not-so-traditional Negroni.
