Australia has invented many great and useful things. The esky, the Hills Hoist, Wi-Fi, the bionic ear, the electric drill, plastic banknotes and even Google Maps.
But one often underappreciated Aussie invention is the Ready-To-Drink can, consisting of a spirit and a mixer, together in a can.
The outdoor lifestyle, the fishing trip, the sneaky one in the beach bag, the BBQ at a mate’s place. There are so many opportunities to have a ready-to-drink can, ready to drink.
So what’s the key to getting a RTD right? Well, it's getting BOTH the gin and the tonic right. And the ratios. The ratios are very important because no one wants a tonic & gin.
For the gin, we started at the obvious place with our Rare Dry Gin, and realised that if we were to make a can with ONE standard drink, we needed our gin component to pack a whole lot of punch. Not alcohol punch but flavour punch. So we made a super concentrated Rare Dry Gin using essentially twice as many of the exact same botanicals.
From there, we designed a tonic that was inspired by a few of our favourites (hat tip to you, Fever-Tree and StrangeLove).
And then we tinkered and toiled and tasted many, many times because we realised that if we were to release a Four Pillars G&T in a can, it had to be the best in the business.
So that’s what we hope we’ve made. It is our Rare Dry Gin & Tonic, ready to go and as good as we can make it. Delicious, clean, refreshing and just the right balance of sweet, sour and bitter.
