AFLOAT PINK GIN DRINKS

Spicy Margaritas are out, spicy gin Margaritas are in.

As is tradition, our favourite floating bar, Afloat Melbourne have picked a new summer theme and Cam has created a new (pink!) gin that’ll transport you there with just one sip. This time we’ve taken inspo from the bold and vibrant Mexico, so we’ve looked to botanicals like finger lime, habanero chilli, Mexican oregano and a dash of agave nectar.

Whip up a super fresh G&T with a wedge of lime or try our take on a spicy pineapple Margarita.

AFLOAT PINK G&T

Super fresh with a big squeeze of lime.

  • METHOD

    • Build in a rocks glass over ice
    • Garnish with a wedge of lime

DIABLO ROSA

A take on a tequila classic, the El Diablo, this cocktail is a sweet ‘n’ spicy Highball with a ginger kick.

  • INGREDIENTS

    • 45mL Afloat Pink Gin 
    • 10mL lime juice 
    • 90mL ginger beer 
    • 10mL cassis (blackcurrant liqueur) 
    • Lime 
  • METHOD

    • Combine all ingredients in a Highball glass and top with ice 
    • Garnish with a fresh lime wedge 

SENOR SPICY PANTS 2.0

It’s our take on a spicy pineapple Margarita. Fresh, zesty, spicy and an all-round party starter!

  • INGREDIENTS

    • 50mL Afloat Pink Gin 
    • 20mL lime juice 
    • 10mL pineapple juice 
    • 10mL sugar syrup 
    • 4 dashes hot sauce (green habanero recommended) 
  • METHOD

    • Combine all ingredients in a tin and shake with ice 
    • Dump into a rocks glass with a pre-salted rim 
    • Garnish with a lime wedge 

TONGUE TICKLER NEGRONI

A next-level riff on one of our favourite gin drinks. Prepare your tastebuds for a real kick.

  • INGREDIENTS

    • 20mL Afloat Pink Gin 
    • 20mL sweet vermouth 
    • 10mL Mezcal 
    • 15mL Campari 
    • 5mL chilli liqueur (we recommend Reed & Co Chilli Koji, Alma Tepec or Ancho Reyes) 
  • METHOD

    • Combine all ingredients in a tin
    • Stir with ice
    • Strain into a rocks glass
    • Top with ice and garnish with an orange slice

PINK GIN SPRITZ

    • 40mL pink grapefruit juice 
    • 75mL lemonade 
    • Grapefruit 
  • METHOD

    • Build ingredients in a wine glass and add ice  
    • Garnish with a fresh grapefruit wedge
